Musical Question for the Ubuntu Community

I have a question, it is actually a puzzle.

The song, called "Popcorn" by a group called "Hot Butter" according to this article....

Is actually an arrangement of the following piece created by Mozart.

Can someone please explain to me how they got "Hot Butter" out of this piece from Mozart because to me this does not compute!!

If variety is the spice of life, monotony must therefore be the kiss of death.

I've heard both pieces of music in the past, not quite the same melody. The versions of "popcorn" I've heard have the main melody played using a tone that sounds a bit like popping corn. This clip of the version by the Muppets might help explain it.

    You've misread the article.

"The Silent Screen (Hot Butter)" is credited to all the members except for Free, but it is actually an arrangement of the main theme of the first movement of Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart's Symphony No. 40.
This is the one they're talking about.
If you can't be bothered writing coherently, I can't be bothered reading your post.

That makes better sense, sounds more like the "Mozart 40" I'm familiar with. "Popcorn" didn't quite compute for me either.

Funny thing is I have been searching for that popcorn song for ages! I remember it from an Amiga demo where they have a animated Odie (from Garfield) walking across the screen. I just never knew what the song was called and could never explain it to people.

Maybe I can go find that demo now...

I'm having a "gosh"/senior moment: I had a cover version of "Popcorn" on cassette something like 35+ years ago.

If you want to hear more Mozart not as the composer intended, you should listen to Florence Foster Jenkins' rendition of the Queen of the Night aria:

In fact everyone ought to hear it, if only to have a personally experienced comprehension of human suffering.

Health Warning - this is not for the faint-hearted!
