    Cloning a GIT Repository

I need to clone a repository. The command is "git clone https://github.com/androportal/linux-sunxi.git". If I do it this way it takes a long time to install/download. Now I opened this link and I got a zip file of the same "linux-sunxi". How do I install this zip file. I mean what is difference between cloning and a zip file?

Its the same thing - you just downloaded the repo as a zip file.

Its 15xMB, so I am not going to download it try it out, but you should be able to do the rest of the instructions if you unpack the zip and treat the resulting folder as the git repo.

However, it could be that the zip file only contains the files, and not the git repository. You will have to test this yourself
