Cant connect to wireless network Ubuntu 12.10

Hello, i recently installed ubuntu on my old hp pavilion dv6000 laptop. when it booted up i relaized it was not connected to my wireless network. I then proceded to add my own filling in the ssid and changing it to a WEP password and typing it in. It is still not connecting and i was wondering if i could get some assistance. Thanks!

just some additional info: it is an amd 64 processor
