Question about Configure and buy option for laptops

Why if I chose ssd 120G instead of hdd the price raises on all ssd cost?
Where goes difference in price between unused hdd and ssd?

    Did I miss something?

Re: Question about Configure and buy option for laptops

(Galago) If you select the 120 Intel ssd in place of the stock 500 hdd, the price rises by $165 (ssd is more expensive than standard hdd).
The prices of the other drives change relative to the price of the chosen ssd. There is a $54 difference between the 120 Intel ssd and the 180 Intel.

"Where goes difference in price between unused hdd and ssd?"
Sorry but I don't understand your second question. When you choose the stock setup, part of the total price of the latop is for the standard hdd, if you want the 120 Intel ssd, you pay
    an additonal $165.

    Good question.

    Lemur Ultra (lemu4) DVD-RW Optical Drive ( + $55 )

Re: Question about Configure and buy option for laptops

With the caddy drives, there are a couple of factors that make it more expensive than the equivalent option for the primary drives. The prices of all the options for the first hard drive all include the cost of the standard 500 GB hard drive. Since a second hard drive isn't included, this cost isn't built into the price of the caddy drives.

Second, there's the physical caddy itself, which has to be added to the total cost of the secondary drive options.

Re: Question about Configure and buy option for laptops

    Sorry, I'm still confused.
When configuring the Gazelle Pro, in the Optical Drive section the default is:

    8X DVD±R/RW/4X +DL Super-Multi Drive

    If you select:

Caddy Case without Hard Drive (Use your own drive in the optical bay)

It appears that you only get the empty Caddy Case in place of the DVD drive and are charged $15 extra. I think that is what the OP was asking in Post #3 - how can the empty caddy cost more than a DVD drive?

The caddy case we use is $49. It's also available full price after purchase from the accessories page.

Thanks, I'm aware of that, see my earlier post (#4). That doesn't explain why removing the DVD ($55 accessory) drive from the configuration and
replacing it with the Caddy ($49 accessory) results in the price of the computer going up by $15 rather than down by $6.

I know we're only talking about a few dollars, it just seems odd.
