Gmail not opening

I have recently installed Ubuntu 11.04 in my laptop. All is well but certain sites like gmail, IRCTC.com are not opening in any browser. Do I have to change some security settings?

Have you installed some ad blocker or tweaked your firewall? gmail works just fine for me with all browsers. I'm using 12.10 now, but didn't have a problem with 11.04 when that was current.

No, i didn't install. No firewall tweaking either.

check that javascript is enabled. I do disable myself too somtimes, to get trougth some annoiances...
