    Three that I use:

    clonezilla

    grsync

    luckybackup

grsync and luckybackup is part of the rsync family (installed by default in ubuntu) and both can be found in the software center.

    Re: backup and restore

The one I use is 'Deja Dup' It is very simple to use and for backing up and restoring . It's in Synaptic . I use it to backup to an external HDD .

    Re: backup and restore

i know about deja dup but the thing is it does nothing
i cant create a backup file

i tried doing it casually as a test for future purpose but nothing happened

i've also tried back in time but unable to sort out how to backup my linux image

i am in a mood of experimentation with my desktops screen
just want to take a precautionary measure to rewind to my previous settings if i mess anything up.
