Unity missing volume slider... Boo :(

So lately I've been playing with different DEs.. Last night installed the 'xubuntu-desktop' package and played around in XFCE. Log back into Unity and noticed my volume slider graphic is missing now.. My guess is that XFCE replaced the slider somehow? How can I fix this? Is there a single package I can install to get the slider working again or do I need to do something else?

    Thanks,
    Tony

Did any packages get removed when you installed xubuntu-desktop?
The package responsible for the sound slider in Unity is indicator-sound. Check if it's installed.

Woah! Sorry for the late response. I was not aware anybody responded to this and it is still a issue I would like to fix. Just tried to install 'indicator-sound' package and it is already installed with the current package it says.. As much as I hate to admit it I honestly didn't look closely when I installed 'xubuntu-desktop' to see if any files were removed. I just did it on a whim and assumed it wouldn't mess anything up.. Anybody?
