Just went to 12.10 and it stings how do I go back?

You cannot downgrade if that's what you mean. You have to back up your personal data and settings, then install the version you do like over 12.10.

What in particular don't you like about 12.10? If its unity, you can install Gnome2 or MATE overtop of it, and then uninstall unity.
