    Did you create a backup copy before editing it? Always a good idea when editing system files. The default file is
    Code:
    #!/bin/sh
    exec tail -n +3 $0
    # This file provides an easy way to add custom menu entries. Simply type the
    # menu entries you want to add after this comment. Be careful not to change
    # the 'exec tail' line above.

    Yes, that is what it is. But so far nothing has worked... I really need to fix this problem.

    Sure, here you go.

    Reading package lists... Done
    Building dependency tree
    Reading state information... Done
    You might want to run 'apt-get -f install' to correct these:
    The following packages have unmet dependencies:
    grub-gfxpayload-lists : Depends: grub-pc (>= 1.99~20101210-1ubuntu2) but it is not going to be installed
    grub-pc-bin : Depends: grub-common (= 1.99-21ubuntu3.6) but it is not going to be installed
    grub2-common : Depends: grub-common (= 1.99-21ubuntu3.6) but it is not going to be installed
    E: Unmet dependencies. Try 'apt-get -f install' with no packages (or specify a solution).
