Hello lovely folks,

I am attempting to enable use of my vaio (VPCEB1E0E) touchpad in 12.04

The touchpad does not appear in my xinput list. I have added GRUB_CMDLINE_LINUX="i8042.nopnp" to my grub file without results (with update and reboot).

I have attempted the enabling code here: http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=1675603 but without success (although without knowing the name of the appropriate xinput pointer device the code may not function).

I believe the crux of the problem is that, prior to my ubuntu installation overtop a windows OS, I had disabled my touchpad using a sony utility. In my neophyte Ubuntu thinking I wonder if this has affected my distro from recognizing the hardware. Additional Drivers comes up blank.

USB pointer devices work perfectly, but I would be endlessly grateful if my touchpad were to return to life.
