window borders gone after most recent update

Using Ubuntu 12.04 LTS, Gnome fallback, Compiz, after the most recent update a couple hours ago, the window borders are gone. How do I get them back?

Probably a problem with Compiz not starting/functioning properly. Try these steps to see if that resolves your problem: http://wiki.compiz.org/Troubleshooti...Window_Borders

Re: window borders gone after most recent update

Thanks for the input. In CCSM under "Effects" "Window Decoration" was checked, but unchecking and re-checking brought the decorations back. In the course of doing this I also got a system error message. Now things seem to be back to normal.
