    Thunderbird problem switch to Evolution

Email: At present I believe there is a Thunderbird IMAP Gmail continuous massive data download problem.

My computer was continuously downloading data. I was getting account exceeded bandwidth limits messages via Thunderbird from Gmail. I did not think to check my broadband limits at the time since I thought it was a minor bug. However, towards the end of my account month, I got a message from my ISP that I was about to incur higher charges because I was about to exceed my broadband allowance. My allowance is 60gig and I never get near it usually. On checking further, significantly more than half my consumption was email!

I found that bug 1074260 is being discussed at Mozilla but given that I was losing money with my ISP I have un-installed Thunderbird on all my home pcs and switched to Evolution. My broadband usage is now fine again.

Re: Thunderbird problem switch to Evolution

This bug seems to be fixed. Now back to running Thunderbird 17.0.4.
