    what Java for 10.4?

    I lost the Java for ubuntu 10.4 and need to install again. I had 6 but it stoped working in the chat rooms i go to so upgraded to 7 and it worked.
    But somehow it went back to original settings. Some must have clicked it

    Those instructions are FAR more difficult than necessary and require you to be aware of when Oracle puts out updates and re-install to keep up.

    The whole installation process, including updates as part of your normal Ubuntu updates, can be found in the Java wiki link in my signature under "Oracle Java 7", "Command line methods", "Using webupd8.org's strikingly simple method."
