Exporting a VirtualBox guest installation

Is it possible to export a VirtualBox guest installation and later install this installation on another machine directly on hard disk?

However I do believe VirtualBox creates a file with the Machine (named the same of your VM wherever you chose to place it), that you can backup/move and simply "add" to another virtualBox.
