Re: Good reads to further my knowlage

I have several books on linux and I've found that as much as I read them they aren't much help until I have a specific problem that I'm trying to figure out and I go back to flip through them. There are several good books out there but I like the shorter reference guide books better. I think it comes down to personal preference and learning style too. If you really want to get down into the nuts and bolts of linux in general you could always read up on the linux from scratch project. It goes through building a bare-bones linux system from the ground up, a lot of good knowledge could be gained from that but I don't think it'd be good for newbies.

Click the "I want to tell you..." link in my signature, it's a free PDF about the Linux command line.

    Online reading

    1. Ubuntu Community Wiki . The ultimate user documentation.
    2. Linux Command Line resources . A sticky here at Forums.
    3. Psyhocats.com . Good page for Ubuntu.
    4. bodhizazen.com Another good page about Linux (Ubuntu).
    5. ArchLinux Wiki . At my opinion , the Ultimate Linux learning resource.
