    Forum - posting threads.

Sorry if I am posting to someones thread.

I just cant find the place to post ANY thread.

And I have a problem which is holding up the whole reason I am trying the live cd of Ubuntu at this time: To get the use of Boot Repair Disk. I couldnt find any posts about my problem, so now I need to know how do I start a new thread is the question.

My problem BTW is that Boot Repair has given me a multiple choice question in a non-interactive window... and so i am stuck there install of Boot Repair without any way to give it what it wants to continue.

I hope someone sees my message in a bottle here. Mint and Bootit screwed up my Fedora install on a GPT/lvm drive and I have been days on this. Now this!

The farthest travel for a message in a bottle: 27,000 miles from the southern pacific somehow all the way around to Greenland. I can always hope.

    Thanks djpython

ps you may repost this in an appropriate area with my whole hearted permission.

Post moved to its own thread.

Simply go to the sub-forum of your choice and click on the orange "New Thread" button which you will see near the top left of the page. A good place to start where you will find people very helpful is the Absolute Beginners Section, here:

    http://ubuntuforums.org/forumdisplay.php?f=326

Another link for you, with a number of mini howtos about using various forum features:

    Good luck!

    Re: Forum - posting threads.

If i am understanding your problem correctly, i would recommend this site.

    https://help.ubuntu.com/community/Boot-Repair

Here you can download and make your own Boot Repair live CD, boot from that and
follow the prompts it gives you, I find it very straight forward and self explanatory.
Someone else may have other suggestions.

Please take a screenshot (or picture) of the window, and attach it to your reply in this forum.

Also please try to run Boot-Repair from an Ubuntu liveCD, as described here: https://help.ubuntu.com/community/Boot-Info
