What CD/DVD direct printer to get for Ubuntu?

I want Santa to bring a printer that can print onto CDs and DVDs, but I don't know what to buy.

I want it to work for Ubuntu 12.04 LTS ideally without having to find and download drivers from the printer manufacturer. It is for Home-use only and need not be fast or produce super-professional results.

Have only just started looking and read about these at one of the online stores:

    - Canon Pixma IP4950 Photo Printer, with Direct DVD and CD Print and Auto Duplex Printing that prints onto (photo) paper and CDs and DVDs.

    - Canon PIXMA MG5350 All-in-One Colour Printer that prints to paper/CDs/DVDs, copies and scans.

Would any of these work with Ubuntu with or without drivers? OR are there other choices that can print onto CDs or DVDs for Ubuntu?

from personal experience, Canon has linux drivers however they can be a real pain to install.

HP is probably your best bet. IMO

Epson works well. The current ones that support CD/DVD printing are the Artisan series. Look for the Artisan 50 or 730.
    Ubuntu 20.04, Mint 19.10; MS Win10 Pro.
Will not respond to PM requests for support -- use the forums.
