Scrolling with Arrow Keys in Firefox Acting up

Scrolling a webpage with the arrow keys is like moving a cursor in a text editor. This means that the page won't scroll smoothly but "jump" if the cursor encounters enough whitespace. Also, if you change scrolling direction, you have to wait for the cursor to reach the top of the page before it begins to scroll the page.

Anyone else have this problem? And idea how to fix it?

Btw: I'm talking about FF 16.0.2 for Ubuntu 1.0 (that's what it says in the "Help->About Firefox" infobox).

Does this happen with all webpages? Does it occur in other web browsers on your system (ie. Chromium)

Yes, all webpages and only in Firefox.

You have probably turned on caret browsing. Hit F7 to turn it back off.
