Lucid user seeks advise on desktop setup after update

I've been using Lucid since it was released but now I'm intending to upgrade to either Precise or Quantal, though probably Precise due to the LTS support.

Recently I've needed to test some code on various Linux distributions, the 2 most recent Ubuntu releases, and the most recent of Fedora and Debian. I must say I like the desktop setup of the latest release of Fedora best, that's v.17 aka Beefy Miracle. However I don't want to move away from Ubuntu.

Can anyone identify how Fedora 17 has set up GNOME from the screenshots which I made of the Fedora desktop and have linked below?

Would it be practical to setup Ubuntu Precise or Quantal in the same way? Are the possible problems which I might face? Also which components would I need to install or uninstall to achieve the same setup? In short: what steps should I take to manage this?

There are also 2 things I would need to change from the Fedora setup. Firstly I'd want the Minimize, Maximize and Close buttons back on every Window (Fedora just has Close and you must right-click to get the others) and I'd like the 'control' menu back on every window, that's the menu which gives you min, max, move, resize, close, and workspace switching). I'd like to keep the application menus on individual windows just as Fedora currently has and have been moved to the top of the screen in recent Ubuntu versions.

    Thanks.
