Formatting a secondary drive with full encryption

I have installed xubuntu 12.13 with full disk encryption. All works well, but I have a secondary internal hard drive that I took out of a windows machine. I want to reformat it to ext4 with the same encryption password as my primary drive. 1. I can't figure out how to format a secondary hard drive and 2. When I do figure it out, how can I make sure that the drive is encrypted and will it decrypt when I login to my system like the primary drive does?

I would prefer using a GUI, but if this can only be done with sudo commands then so be it.
