    Proxy from abroad

    Hi all,

This may have already been answered already somewhere on here, but I don't seem to be able to find it or my search terms aren't correct...

I would like to turn my Ubuntu Server into a proxy server that I can use from abroad to access UK websites otherwise blocked from abroad (BBC iPlayer for example).
Would anybody be kind enough to point me in the right direction of how i can set this up ?
(Preferably step by step if its not too much trouble ?!)
I have heard of a proxy server called Squid, but never played with it ??

    Thank you.

Squid has a wiki that covers how to configure. The conf file is quite complex because it has a large range of functionality but what you are wanting sounds fairly basic.

The ubuntu docs may be more useful as the files are in different places
