I have xubuntu 1204 and by accident I delited the notification icon(programs) for the whole me menu, sound and maybe some other things I am not aware of. Is there any way I can reinstall without having to make a complete new installation?

Ubuntu addict and loving it
just alt +right click panel and select add and add it back, no worries. Also you might install panel restore for future glitches.

right-click panel >> panel >> add new items >> add indicator plugin, session menu and possibly notification area
