Smile Re: 12.10 upgrade - grub failure "alloc magic is broken"

dino99, thank You! It is fixed.

For anyone with similar problem and full disk encryption:
    0) Get livecd/liveusb
    1) Follow steps 2,3,4 from here http://askubuntu.com/questions/59974...g-installation
    2) http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=1581099
You need to do section Chroot, only difference is at step A - instead of
    Code:
sudo mount /dev/sdXY /mnt/temp # Mount the main Ubuntu partition. Example: sudo mount /dev/sda5 /mnt/temp
    you need something like
    Code:
    sudo mount /dev/mapper/YOURROOTDIRNAME /mnt/temp
    # for example I had
    sudo mount /dev/mapper/vol1-man /mnt/temp
(Maybe before 2) read Section "What can I try first?" and try, didn't help me.)

Unhappy Re: 13.04 upgrade - grub failure "alloc magic is broken"

    Hi,
Just upgraded 12.10->13.04 and got exactly same error "alloc magic is broken" and thought it's OK because figured out solution last time was upgrading but was extremely disappointed - this solution didn't fix the problem. It reinstalls grub and no broken packages detected in apt but still "alloc magic is broken" doesn't go away.
Tried also Boot-Repair CD but it tried to do similar things and failed with errors http://paste.ubuntu.com/5716995/

Any ideas why old solution doesn't work anymore?
