    Question Ubuntu as RHCE

    Hello All,

    Greetings of the day.

    I am new to Ubuntu and playing around. But in fact i want to become an RHCE (Red Hat Certified Engineer) so just curious to know if i can Run/do practice on Ubuntu (All of RHEL command will go through ? ).

    Please let me know if its possible so that i can continue.

    Not really. You'd better go with CentOS or Scientific Linux.

    There are many significant differences between administration of a Ubuntu and a Red hat box .You would be better off installing Centos as suggested above.
    or even fedora which is used as test bed for red hat.

    I'll just save you a little Googling. CentOS is literally the source code of RHEL, with some new art, a couple of different packages by default, and a different name. Perfectly legal. Everything you can do on RHEL you can do on CentOS, as far as I know.

    However, that's no reason not to use Ubuntu on your desktop when you're not learning Red Hat
    I try to treat the cause, not the symptom. I avoid the terminal in instructions, unless it's easier or necessary. My instructions will work within the Ubuntu system, instead of breaking or subverting it. Those are the three guarantees to the helpee.
