Ubuntu Mini Remix & Gnome

Hi,

Want to do a minimal install Ubuntu Mini Remix 12.10 onto a USB stick. I want to install the minimum to get a gnome desktop with "no recommends" with apt-get etc. I have found a few pages but they appear out of date . Exactly what do I have to type?

It looks like you need the do:

sudo apt-get install --no-install-recommends ubuntu-gnome-desktop && sudo apt-get install ubuntu-gnome-default-settings

And I say looks like because I run 12.04
