    hi weatherscomputers,
also a noob to the lubuntu scene but i hope my input helps. have you taken a look in the lubuntu 12.10 additional drivers tab? should be located at preference > software resources > additional drivers. there should be a list displayed with available drivers for your detected gpu card. i myself am running an nvidia geforce 8500 gt gpu. i simply use the x.org x server driver available for my nvidia card because the nvidia propriety drivers mess with my display resolution.

hey there thanks for the reply
When i do what u said under additional drivers its completely blank....
is it bc my card is incompatible with 12.10...id give 12.04 a shot but thats another hot mess bc my download speeds get capped at 500kb/s under 12.10 im getting 1.5mb - 3 consistently so id love to stick with 12.10

You're already using the only driver available for your card.

ATI dropped support for the 4xxx series of cards over the summer so they don't write drivers for it anymore. If you do want to use the ATI driver your only option is to use 12.04.
