12.10 indicator plugin: mail notification missing?

Hi, not sure if this is already posted, done a quick search...
I upgraded to Xubuntu 12.10 just now and it feels very responsive in comparison with Xubuntu 12.04. No other apparent changes except the GUI looks a bit different...

But what did stand out quite easily is that the mail notification icon seems to be missing. The one that folds out into email and instant messaging options. Am I the only one or is it a known bug or just a deprecated feature? More importantly: can I get it back? The default Mailwatcher Plugin is useless to me because I leave all mail on the server and set my Thunderbird to only keep mail from the previous five days.

    Any help would be appreciated.

    Edit:

From the Xubuntu 12.10 release notes:

The messaging indicator is not available for 12.10

Thanks, will read what else is in there. Quite honestly I didnt expect something to this extent in an official release, not from Ubuntu. But it is still a relatively minor issue and everything else seems to be working perfectly well.

For anyone interested, you can get mail notification in Xubuntu by installing the Firetray Thunderbird addon. It looks and acts a lot like the messaging indicator although it doesn't support things like IM and Ubuntu One.

    Cheers!
