Dark Souls too slow w/ Linux Mint

Hey I am running Linux Mint Maya 13. I have xp dual booted, and Dark Souls runs perfectly fine on xp. But on Mint it is noticeably slower, enough to kill the experience.

I am using an Inspiron 530 with 2 GB of DDR2 ram, an e4500 Core 2 Duo processor(2.2 Ghz) and an ATI 3870.

Also the graphics look either stretched or ripped or something. Not out of proportion, but like the resolution is too small on a large screen. I want to run this game on Linux and not xp. Are there any ways to fix these problems? THis is really all of the information I have. I don't know what else would be needed.

Re: Dark Souls too slow w/ Linux Mint

I updated the bios and it seems to perform better. But it still isn't what I want. Also, I still cannot fix the resolution issue. I am also using a dual action logitech controller, and the controls are wrong. I assume this is due to no support beyond 360 controllers. xboxce does not work with wine, so i can't use it to fix the problem. Is there anyone who can help?

Which ATI GPU drivers are you running?
