multitouch "keybindings" Logitech Wireless Touchpad

Hi guys,

recently i bought a Logitech Wireless Touchpad. Most of the multi-touch functions works well out of box, but it would be really nice to be able to switch desktops using the 4 fingered gestures.
How can I connect the scan codes (what the device sends) to the desktop switcher function? I've already tried to set it via compiz settings manager, but I guess it's not a good idea

I'm also trying to bind multitouch gestures to compiz...
I found this: http://code.google.com/p/pycompiz/
but its over my head on how to go about it.
I'll post back if I find a solution.

EDIT: To avoid double posting I'll just edit here.

So I found a program for gestures called 'easystroke' you might be able to get it to issue some command to compiz (something like compiz scale 'toggle scale' or whatever) when you use the gesture.

It's a cool program indeed! I think the solution will be some hack on Udev rules or something like that, but there must be an easier way to assign the emitted scan-codes to these simple desktop functions
