    How Do I Play ASX?

    Totem media player, dosen't work, and it crashes.
    VLC just dosen't play the file.

    I am trying to view the live stream of the Confederation Bridge.

    ASX is just a reference to some other streaming tech. You need to know what that technology being used it. If it is an encrypted, proprietary stream, you may only be able to watch it from MS-Windows after you install a specific driver. BTW, those "special codecs" for Windows often include viruses.

    I would try mplayer, then I'd give up, since you already tried VLC. In my world, if VLC can't play it and mplayer can't play it, then I don't need to view it.

    I've never liked Totem and find it hard to believe it is still included. I guess that is just me, since it must work just fine for some people - perhaps even lots of people. When I see it on a new install, it reminds me to purge it and load vlc instead.
