Lightspark -> Adobe flash replacement?

Cam across this article written in february this year. Anyone tried this application? Is it really a good Flash Player replacement?

Lightspark is a free Flash player for Linux which aims for high-performance by using modern technologies such as JIT compilation and OpenGL shaders.

The project is currently in an alpha status and provides the standalone player and browser plugin for testing purposes only.

Nice features:

• JIT compilation of ActionScript to native x86 bytecode
• Hardware accelerated rendering using OpenGL shaders (GLSL)
• Aims to support current-generation ActionScript 3
• A new, clean, codebase exploiting multithreading and optimized for modern hardware. Designed from scratch after the official Flash documentation was released.

It is exactly what it says, it is in alpha stage. I could not get the browser plugin to work in Iceweasel 15.0.1 on the popular website youtube to play any videos. I have a better time using html5 than using gnash on youtube. As for lightspark to replace adobe flash for watching youtube videos, it is currently not working for my browser. Others may have better results, but using gnash or html5 would be better options than lightspark at this time.

I did not try the standalone player as I do not have any .swf files to use.
