Think I screwed up my hard drive

I was rebuilding my old desktop when I mistakenly connected the power supply of a floppy disk to the ten-pin thing that identifies the drive as master, slave, etc. Then I turned it on. I realized my mistake, correctly (I think) connected the hdd and restarted. HDD is not detected. Have I ruined the hard drive?

    It's called the jumper block.

You probably shorted it and fried something on the PCB (That's a new one to me!). The physical disk itself should be okay and you can take it to a data recovery place if you have valuable data on it.
