Mencoder - medibuntu

Hello

Anyone got any ideas on how i can get mencoder to install on 12.10 ?

Software center says it is broken - Gdebi says it needs libavcodec that is older than the one already installed.

What would forceing it to install from command line to system stabiliation ?

Thanks in advance for any help.

Odd. I don't have the medibuntu repository enabled, and mencoder installed fine, so I suspect your problem is the lib files in medibuntu conflicting with the ones in the default repositories.

The following information may help resolve the situation:

I need to re-install Devede which was working but since the latest upgrade no longer works. Apt removed Mplayer, Mencoder and devede.
