Exclamation Using Ubuntu 11.04 Headless - Resolution issues

    Hi all.

I'm running Ubuntu 11.04 on an extra machine i have at home as my fileserver, SubSonic server, Minecraft server amongst a few other things. I have been using my LCD Tv as a monitor but its getting rather old, and if i dont have the VGA plugged into the server, i cant get anything higher than 800x600 resolution when i VNC into the machine. I can confirm the resolution when i plug the VGA back into the server. Now, if i reboot with the VGA plugged in, my server is back to normal resolution. I've found little help running Ubuntu 11.04 headless on the internet and i'm still having to login with my keyring and allow Vino to let me VNC into the box...which im looking for a workaround for that too. Anyway hope someone can shed some light on this. Thanks.

Yup I have pretty much the same problem... Did you get over this in the end on 11.04?

Regarding vnc though I'm running x11vnc rather than vino
