Screen Brightness Resets to Max

Hi

Each time I restart my laptop the screen brightness resets to the maximum brightness.

Is there a simple way to permanently set it?

I see others have had similar problems:

I tried a few of the suggestions but get denied permissions each time.

try installing xbacklight and then type xbacklight in terminal and set it to various numbers and then add xbacklight to startup apps when you get it where you want it
