How do I get my WiFi adapter to work?

I am completely new to Ubuntu and I currently use a Zyxel nwd2205 to connect to my router. It worked fine with Win7, I just put the disc in and it downloaded the software and the I rebooted and it worked. I know this is not going to be as simple but please could any of you tell me how to just make my Wifi adapter work.

    Thanks, in advance.

Cool Re: How do I get my WiFi adapter to work?

Connect to the internet by cable, then plug "Zyxel" and let the computer detect and search for the new driver.

Which version of Ubuntu you are using?

    Welcome to the Forum.

Plug in your USB adaptor and a cable for a wired connection and boot your ubuntu system.
The cable should only be needed if the USB adaptor is not recognised immediately.

    Thank you
