I now find that I can no longer edit the first post of this thread I started:

I continually update this thread with revised software.

New to technical forums?: How To Ask Questions The Smart Way
This change was brought in some months ago - unfortunately it's another issue brought about by spammers.
The bones of it can be found in here - http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=2028144
Thanks, pity the database rules couldn't be changed to allow known legitimate posters to still do this.
It should be easy to do a test of - for example - an account that has existed for more than 3 months AND has posted more than 50 posts to do this sort of things.
That should be a fairly easy technical fix that would satisfy the anti-spam objective.

The software doesn't allow for that fine grained control, it's possible that vb4 will - it's possible that we'll look at it again.
The other side of the coin being the changes that we are making with Tutorials and Tips with regards to wiki's, the stickies in that forum explain those changes.
I see you've created a wiki now - it might be best to close your original thread and start a discussion thread for your wiki - you can append changes to that new thread as and when.
