    Encrypted bootable USB drive

I was wondering if it is possible to encrypt a bootable USB drive in its entirety. I assume one can encrypt the files on the drive, but what about the OS part.

I guess I need to ask this first, does ubuntu files need to be encrypted?

All help would be beneficial. Thanks.

    Yes, it's possible

See here for a guide on how to do it for Backtrack 5 (a Debian based distro)

So I have read this for about a week and well... umm... any chance it could be a little more simpiler than this?

Sorry. I consider myself pretty computer savy but I don't think I'm this savy.

Herman is very detailed, which at first may look complex.
