I just installed ubuntu 12.04 (Dual boot W7) on my HP Elitebook 8560p. And I noticed that the machine runs really hot when running Ubuntu. If I boot up under Windows 7, the machine runs at normal temperature, even when doing work.

I launched my system monitor and compiz is taking 20% of my CPU (always).

I run xbmc, the rss ticker skips a lot, and under system info, the fps goes from 340 to 84 (does this back and forth).

Video Driver: ATI/AMD proprietary FGLRX graphics driver.

I did some research about similar elitebook models and found something about ACPI and recompiling kernerl (which I have no idea how to do).

Anyways, the machine is fully operational, but it runs really hot with the fan always on and blowing hot air.

If anybody knows what could be wrong and how to fix it, I will greatly appreciate it.
