    Brother MFC

    Hi:

I decided to use brother's linux installation script for new xubunut 12.04 image. Is it "normal" to have dozens and dozens of libs being unpacked. The last time I installed this, I did it manually and I don't remember this many libraries. What has been your experience using the install script.

    All seems functioning so far.

    Thanks

I just did the same and experienced the same with the brother installation tool. My understanding is that since I run Xubuntu 12.10 with 64bit additional 32bit "libs" are required as the brother drivers are for 32bit only.
If you are running also 64bit I think that would explain it.

That's one of the nice things about the installer script. It takes care of all the 64 bit issues. Scanner installs are a bit more involved.
