    Afpowertcp

Anyone have any idea on why , this morning from about 7:05 onwards i keep getting attempts to connect to something called Afpowertcp ?

My understanding of this is it is a Apple thing and not a linux app.

    here is one example :

Sep 28 08:21:58 Unknown 548 "myispaddy" TCP Afpowertcp

I have been using Ubuntu for years and have never seen this one.

The "myisaddy" is an address from comcast.

Googleing this is all i have found :

Short for AppleTalk Filing Protocol, the client/server file sharing protocol used in an AppleTalk network. A non-Apple network can only access data from an AppleShare file server by first translating into the AFP language. AFP over TCP/IP, a flavor of AFP, allows users to access AFP servers over TCP/IP networks.

Thanks in advance for any info.

Doing some more research i have found the following:

Looks like big brother has taken an interest in my machine !

Comes back to " IP address "67.162.210.162" is located @ United States Michigan Grand Rapids "

On the map it is in the general location of the Grand Rapids Police Department / Bankruptcy Court / Secretary of State Office , all are in the same building.

    http://iplocation.truevue.org/67.162.210.162.html

The red indicator tag on the map says " United States Michigan Grand Rapids "

Also found this , usually means they use comcast

    Re: Afpowertcp

Oh yea i seem to remember a monday morning at 6:00 or 6:30 am these two guys were inside the comcast cable box on my floor , of this apartment building and they said they were looking for mice. Another guy came different day and they installed another big cable box right under the orginal one. Wonder what that is for ? Hummm.

Humm I wonder if they found any mice. I also wonder if they checked the 4 way splitter right inside my wall connector where my cable comes in. Someone/s hooked themselves up to my cable run years ago.

Should be interesting to see what happens.
