Currently I'm looking at Latitude E5530, and Lenovo Thinkpad T530.
Which will work better with Ubuntu?

I'm not sure about the Latitude or Thinkpad but I am running it on a older Dell Inspiron 1521. It runs great but the only thing I have to do is load the right driver for the wifi.

I would go for the Thinkpad. i have owned a few IBMs/Lenovos and i just think the quality of the hardware is much better than the dell.
I currently have a Dell E5420 and it feels so cheap (it was not cheap for what it is!)
Lenovo/IBM all the way!
Ubuntu 18.04 VMs
thanx guys for the tips.
Seems like I will go with Lenovo. now I need to choose 1080p or 900p resolution
the 1080p LCD is a 95% gamut screen and is superior to the 1600x900
