    Brother printer MFC-J6510DW does not print duplex

    Hallo,

    I have problems

    • with monochrome and duplex printing (neither of the parameters seems to work)
    • with a Brother MFC-J6510DW printer
    • on kubuntu 12.04 (64 Bit)

    Setup was done following http://welcome.solutions.brother.com...ion_prn1a.html.
    Printing is fine but only one-sided and in color.

    Any hint or solution is appreciated.

    Is this with all applications, or only certain ones.
    - my printer will not duplex if I print from Libreoffice, but otherwise works perfectly (but not the same as yours)

    Are you connected to it wirelessly or over usb? Not sure if it matters, but I installed my Brother printer (not the same one) from that site, it runs over USB, and it works great.

    for LibreOffice............

    if one enters the command

    usr/lib/libreoffice/program/spadmin
    !!!!!!!!!

    into a terminal......and hits the enter key;

    one gets the sort of image I show in the enclosed thumbnail called sysadmin

    If one then highlights a printer;

    and clicks on the properties button;

    one gets an image such as in properties thumbnail;

    where one can edit such as the duplex function; if the printer allows duplex.......

    I created a launcher for sysadmin;

    this website

    http://linuxhelp.host.org/index.php?...create-desktop

    suggests how to do it for ubuntu
