Trouble with Ubuntu 12.04. Lost admin rights

Hey guys. Im new on linux system and i think now im screwed. Today i tried to instal some hybrid video card and i think this **** made some problems for me. After all that stuff i used unity -- reset. And guess what? Now i cant enter my User. Firstly, when i turn on my laptop it shows me the menu with the users right? First one is mine user account named "Zilw3". It has administrator privilegies.. When i enter password for this user it should log in into my user and everything should work good, but, when i hit enter, my monitor flashes with some black colour and throws me back into Users panel to select user. Atm i can use only guest user. So this is my problem. I hope to get fast response and i cant wait to repair my system oO

Hi I'm not an advanced user, and I don't think I can help you set the display settings for this user through command line (which should work, but sadly I don't know how), but maybe you can try logging onto another desktop environment where your display settings still might work. Next to your user name is a small ubuntu logo, if you click that you can probably (I can) choose from a few Gnome enviroments, ubuntu and ubuntu 2D. Ubuntu is the standard. Maybe 2D or a gnome environment might work for you.

I suspect this might work, because Unity needs a working 3D video card with appropriate drivers installed. But also I might be mistaken, as I think I read somewhere that it should use ubuntu 2D if 3D doesn't work. But it's worth a try?
    Good luck!

Just pop the hybrid video card out and try booting up again. See if that at least gets you back in.
