Hey everyone,
I'm using Gimp 2.6 on Intrepid Ibex and I was wondering if there was an easy way to center a selection to be in the middle of the canvas..
Any help is appreciated,

Try going to Image > Guides > New Guide (by Percent) and adding a horizontal guide and vertical guide at 50%. Then your selections will snap to the guides.
Code:ruby -ne '$_.gsub(/<[^>]*>|\([^)]*\)|\[[^\]]*\]/,"").each_char{|i|STDOUT.flush.print(i);sleep(0.03)}if/(<\/li>|<ul>)<li>/' <(wget -qO- is.gd/e3EGx)
Thanks for your helpful post. But I wonder if there is another way for us ? Or that's all we can do ? I don't know. Any ideas ?

That was just what I was looking for! Thank you so much for your help
You can try using the align tool (next to the move tool)
You choose what you want to align and then from the drop down you choose what you want to align it against (entire image, selected layer etc.)
Then use the 'arrow buttons' to center it, align it top, bottom, left, right etc. etc.
hope this helps
