Trying to burn JPEG files to CD in Brasero

I just installed Ubuntu due to XP problems and now am trying to recover the photos from it and put on a CD. It is my understanding you burn a data CD. Where do you select the location that you burn to? CD Rom is read only? I do not know where to tell it to burn to in order to be on the CD. And do they need to be converted in some way? I want to be able to view the CD on another Windows computer. Thank you.

Your mileage may vary, but I couldn't get brasero to work properly. I installed k3b instead, and it worked like a dream.

I don't normally use Brasero but it looks like you need to (1) Create a Data Project (2) add the picture files to the project (3) go to the project tab and select Burn. This of course assumes that you have a writable CD/DVD in the burner. There should be no file conversion required to burn the files to disk although if they are in some strange or proprietary format you may need to do something to them before you can use them on another computer.

I prefer Nero ($$) or K3b for CD/DVD burning in Linux.
