    I *think* I'm correct in saying there is no native Linux support for that device - only ndiswrapper

    You should confirm you have the same PCI-ID before going ahead, e.g. using

    Code:
    lspci -vnn | grep -iA2 'InProComm'
    and looking for the number in brackets [17fe:2220]

    I have found a driver that matches card and have downloaded and extracted but dont know what to do next...

    Ndisgtk is correct for your device. Download the file I've attached to your desktop. Right-click it and select Extract Here. Open a terminal and do:
    Code:
    sudo ndisgtk
    When the window opens, point to Desktop > Winxp > neti2220.inf. Your wireless should spring to life. Post back if you need more help.

    It pops up a window saying root or sudo priviledges required.... when i have done a sudo command before it asks for password which I type into terminal but there seems no option to do this?

    For security purposes, your password is not echoed back to you; not even ****. Just type it in and press Enter.
