I have been using Ubuntu at work for about a week now, and it works great.

When I set it up as my permanent box, I plugged in the USB for my cordless keyboard, and literally a second later the keyboard functioned. I just set up the printer; it took me maybe two minutes. I told the tech that ten years ago, when I first started with Linux, that would have taken me 2 days (but really, it might have been a month, now that I think of it.)

However, when playing with my keyboard, I pressed the picture button. This button apparently should launch skype. Instead, I instantly got a blank screen. Nothing I could do would get me out of the blank screen. I finally had to hard reboot.

I am using Ubuntu 12.04 with a 64 bit system and an AMD Athlon processor.

Can anyone tell me how to fix this problem, other than the obvious don't press that key again? I don't intend on using skype, but I would like to avoid the blank screens, or if I get them, know how to correct the problem without a hard reboot (if possible).
