Ubuntu Isn't Recognizing All Of My Memory

I am running 10.04, and I have a gig of ram in my machine. However, when I go to the system monitor, it tells me I only have 749mbs of ram. I don't have an onboard graphic chip (I have a NVIDIA card and I use the drivers for it...)

What would be causing it not to recognize all of my memory? Is it a bios setting?

Are you using a 32 bits ubuntu by any chance?

Yes I am. I just looked in my bios though and it turns out I AM using vga share... I'm an idiot. I forgot that I had to replace my video card a few years ago, and I temporarily used the chipset... and i totally forgot to actually replace the external card.

So yes. I am using a chipset. and rightfully so. Oops. I feel dumb now.
