I am Shah and this is my first post here at Ubuntu Forums. I have been using Ubuntu 12.10 for the past 6 months and had no problems till i bought a MiFi Router (Micromax MMX 400R). When I connect the device through USB Port, it is not detected.
After a google search, i found out that Micromax devices won't properly work on Ubuntu. On further searching, I found some solution to make Ubuntu detect the device and connect to internet. I tried those solutions and found them waste of time. None of it worked.
I know that there are many threads similar to this one. But, None of them deal with this particular device(Micromax MMX 400R). And I don't want to bump a old thread. That's why I created a new one. If I have violated any rules, Please merge this post with any of the related threads.
Thanks in Advance!
Awaiting for your replies!
It's more than 3 hours. I still didn't get a single reply. Anyhow, I tried this method to make the device work.
In step 3, while using the command "usb_modeswitch -c /etc/usb_modeswitch.d/1c9e\:f010", I got the following error.
My vendor id is 1c9e and product id is f010.Error: MessageContent ”55534243123456788000000080000606f5040252700000000 0000000000000″
is not a hex string. Aborting.
